Sustainable Living

Living in balance with nature

The personal project of living (more) sustainably can probably best be compared to a journey that never really ends, but thankfully one that gets easier over time. As is often the case, the beginning is the most difficult bit, but the first step is the most important. This journey not only makes us question our habits, but if you dive in deep it also makes us question the status quo. A guide on this journey can be our Ecological Footprint.

Food

What we eat is not only important for our health, but also for the environment. The good thing is that a diet with a smaller Ecological Footprint is also likely to be more healthy, and vice versa.

So, if you are interested in healthy eating and enjoy cooking, this may be the best place to start your sustainability journey. Have you ever looked at what kind of Ecological Footprint is associated with your diet?

Stuff

In addition to food, we consume loads of other stuff, whose manufacture and disposal leaves a footprint in the environment. By shopping more consciously and, above all, less, we can not only reduce our environmental impact, but also live more simply and happily.

Home

Sustainable living at home is all about one thing: using less energy to reduce our carbon footprint. The possibilities in our own home range from turning the lights off when we leave a room to improving the insulation.

If you are looking for the easiest way to start your journey, this is the place for you.

Travel

When we travel it’s also all about energy. Currently we are still often dependent on fossil fuels for transportation, but the more often we can move under our own steam, the better for the environment and our fitness.

In no other area is the difference that we can make greater than in the area of travel.
